A mum who has been living in a council "house of horrors" for six years is desperate for her concerns to finally be dealt with.

Victoria Warvill lives in North Park Avenue, near Eaton Park, with her four children Thomas, 14, George, 13, Edward, three, and Emily, one.

The 32-year-old says that since moving into Percival Close council flat in 2017 she has had constant issues which have not been resolved.

She said: "I've been having problems since I moved in.

"The windows don't lock properly which means they're not safe, something which is worrying with my children here.

"During the winter we basically have to tape them up to keep any heat in the house.

"The floorboards were taken up when the kitchen had work done on it but they've not been put back correctly and are directly on top of my hot water pipe now.

"The last nine months there's also been three or four major leaks from upstairs which come straight through into my bathroom and bedroom - to the point where me and my baby can't sleep in there.

"It also leaks down near plug sockets and lights so it's a fire hazard as well."

Victoria added that she's on the council list to try and exchange but admitted: "If someone came to look at this house they'd laugh.

"No one is going to want to move into here in its current state.

"The many issues in this house need to either be sorted, or we should be moved to somewhere that's suitable and safe for me and my children."
