Norwich clubbers could soon have a new place to party after plans were announced to transform a takeaway into a new nightclub.

The new club could open at 20 Prince of Wales Road amid a season of change in the heart of the city's clubland.

Plans are already afoot which will see a long-standing barbers and a takeaway transformed into housing and a former nightclub transformed into an African bar, while the old Prince of Wales pub has already been transformed into Barcadia.

The new nightclub is hoping to open between 3pm and 11pm on Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm to 4am on Friday, 12pm to 4am on Saturday and 12pm to 11pm on Sunday.

In its application to Norwich City Council, the owner of the building said there had previously been plans to open a bar in the building but these had been curtailed by the Covid pandemic.

The club will employ five people and has already seen plans to install signage and replace the shopfront approved.

It is hoped a decision on the plans will be made by August 4.
