From chart-topping acts to hot air balloons, these are the major concerts and festivals happening in Norfolk in August 2023.

1. Classic Ibiza, Blickling

Where: Blickling Estate, Blickling, NR11 6NF

When: August 5

Get transported to the White Isle as Classic Ibiza returns to the National Trust's Blickling Estate this summer.

The show will include DJ sets from Jose Luis and Goldierocks and the night ends with the Urban Soul Orchestra, featuring a laser light show.

2. VW Whitenoise Festival, New Costessey

Where: Norfolk Showground, Dereham Road, New Costessey, NR5 0TT

When: August 11-13

Norfolk's biggest motor and music festival returns and it will include hundreds of classic vehicles, with the Show and Shine competition on Sunday.

There will also be live music, a fairground, free children's entertainment, vintage stalls and a free roller disco.

3. Hot Air Balloon Festival, Old Buckenham

Where: Old Buckenham Country Park, Doe Lane, Old Buckenham, NR17 1PP

Where: August 11-13

Price: 3-day weekend non-camping ticket - adults (17+): £30, children (5-16): £15, under 5s: free, oldbuckenhamcountrypark.com

This family-friendly festival returns to the Norfolk countryside and it will be a celebration of hot air balloons and, weather permitting, you will be able to see flights taking off and a stunning night glow. 

There will also be live music, street food, a barbecue, a beer festival and children's entertainment.

4. Festival of Sport, Holkham

Where: Holkham Park, Wells-next-the-Sea, NR23 1AB 

When: August 11-14

The Festival of Sport takes place at the scenic Holkham Estate and it will feature legends such as rugby stars Will Greenwood and Austin Healey.

The event will feature expert sports coaching for children, which will include hockey, cricket and rowing.

5. Cromer Carnival Week, Cromer

Where: Carnival Field, Runton Road, Cromer, NR27 9AU

When: August 12-18

Price: Many free events, on Carnival Day (August 16) entry to the Carnival Field is £8 for adults and £6 for seniors or children, see the full programme at cromercarnival.co.uk

After two children's weeks packed with family-friendly activities, from July 31 to August 4 and August 7 to 11, is the main Carnival Week.

Carnival Day is on August 16 from 9.30am until 4.15pm, with entertainment, a funfair and the Red Arrows display at 12.30pm. 

Fireworks will be set off from the Carnival Field at 9.15pm on August 17, after the torchlight parade, and entry is free.

6. Earlham Park Concerts and Let's Rock Festival, Norwich 

Where: Earlham Park, Norwich, NR4 7TQ

When: August 17-19

Three days of live music will entertain audiences in Earlham Park this summer, kicking off with hip-hop trio N-Dubz on August 17.

This will be followed by Pete Tong with his globally-renowned Ibiza Classics show on August 18 and Let's Rock Festival is on August 19, with 80s acts including Bananarama, Happy Mondays and Tony Hadley.

7. Sandringham Estate Concerts, Sandringham

The Sandringham Estate's first major live concert series takes place this summer and it has been organised by Heritage Live.
