Plans to open a feline-friendly cat cafe in Norwich have been given the green light ahead of a planned grand opening.
The Cat House aims to open next month in the former site of Olive Pizzeria in Dereham Road offering a huge central cat tree along with alcohol and cakes for the humans.
Now the coast is clear for the cafe to open after Norwich City Council approved an application to change the building's use from a restaurant to a cafe and to add a veranda and pergola to the site.

It will also double up as an art gallery, with cat-inspired artworks and artists encouraged to get in touch to showcase their work.
The venue will also hold workshops including a cat life-drawing class and cat yoga classes.

In addition to the main cafe, owner Sarah Price is also hoping to build an outdoor play area worth £5,000 for the moggies with tables and chairs for customers.
Bookings for the cafe and classes will begin two weeks before the business opens.
As a condition of the council's approval, the cafe must begin planned work within three years.
