Tex-mex takeaway lovers could soon be able to treat themselves to Taco Bell in Norwich city centre.
The American fast food giant is planning to open its only Norfolk store in London Street at the former home of travel agents, Thomas Cook.
Promising tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more, Taco Bell has submitted a planning application to Norwich City Council as it aims to install a new door and add a full plant and extraction system.
The restaurant would have space for 28 people and be open from 11am to 11pm every day.
Taco Bell plans to employ 25 members of staff made up of 10 full-time and 15 part-time roles.
New illuminated signs will also be installed, featuring the company's recognisable bell logo.
The new restaurant will follow a number of new openings in the city including Urban Outfitters and Cluck'd in the city centre, and Dereham Road's Cat House cafe.
It comes after the chain's Great Yarmouth store closed in 2020 due to the "devastating" effect of the Covid pandemic.
Those wishing to comment on plans have until July 27, while it is hoped a decision will be made by September 14.
The closest Taco Bell to Norwich currently is in Lowestoft.
