The swings in Hellesdon Recreation Ground have been temporarily fenced off due to safety concerns.
The issues arose when the safety surfacing was vandalised, exposing the hardcore surface.

A spokeswoman from Hellesdon Parish Council said: “The matter has been reported to the police and we are pleased with the support we have received from members of the public who witnessed the event.”
The parish council are working to replace the surfacing as a priority during the school holidays but is finding it may take longer than hoped.

The spokeswoman continued: “The timing of the vandalism could not have been worse as play equipment contractors are very busy at present.
“As a result, the cost of the replacement surfacing and the timing of the repairs are as yet unknown.”
All other equipment in the play area remains open for use, as does the recreation ground.
The incident happened at approximately 6.30pm on Friday, July 21. Anyone with information can contact PC Sam Hales at Norfolk Constabulary by calling 101.
