A gourmet pub which reopened just months ago has won a prestigious award following excellent feedback from diners.
Salhouse Lodge, in Vicarage Road, has scooped an OpenTable Diners' Choice Award for 2023.
The award recognizes "outstanding" restaurants based on feedback from local diners.
The pub reopened after being taken on by Colchester Inns in June, having undergone an entire refurbishment.
George Colchester, 25, is at the helm of the family's latest venture which has been busy since opening.
Colchester Inns has built up a reputation for its gourmet menus of pub classics featuring plenty of local produce.
The Recruiting Sergeant, the group's flagship pub, has won a number of awards, including a Traveller Review Award from Booking.com, and is a finalist in the South Norfolk and Broadland Council Business Awards 2023.
In a post on Instagram, Salhouse Lodge said: "Seven weeks since our restaurant opened for online bookings and we've received a Diners' Choice Award!
"Apparently, this means that Open Table users have voted The Lodge as one of the best restaurants in the area, so thank you for voting for us!"
