Norwich foodies will have a new place to feast when a city centre restaurant opens next month.

Cluck'd intends to open in September in Westlegate at the former home of the Mindoro dessert parlour, which closed in 2019, serving "grilled chicken your way".

The restaurant, which will be the company's first, is currently advertising for a number of jobs ahead of the big opening following an application to serve alfresco diners in the street.

Cluck'd expects to employ between 30 and 40 people at the site.

In its job descriptions, the restaurant says city folk can expect "mouth-watering chicken" which will leave customers "smiling ear to ear" when it opens in September.

It comes after Norwich City Council gave restaurant bosses the green light to open in July, with plans to fully refurbish its interior with new tables and chairs and install a digital menu board.

The new opening comes after years of speculation over the site, with estate agents initially suggesting a chain with more than 100 branches was due to move in at one point.

The Ipswich-based business has also applied for outdoor seating. If approved, this will consist of four tables and eight chairs, to be used until 10pm.

Cluck'd will open from 11am to 11pm every day, including bank holidays.
