An appeal has been launched following a rape in a Norwich suburb, as police search for a man accused of the sexual assault.

Police were called to Clover Hill Road in Bowthorpe at 1.26am on Sunday (August 13) following reports of a rape.

A woman was walking home when a man approached her and proceeded to rape her. The man is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and of a stocky build.

He had a beard and was wearing dark grey joggers and a black hoody.

Detective Inspector Kev Barber said: "We understand that there may be some concern in the local community following a similar incident earlier last month.

"I would like to stress that there is no evidence to suggest that these incidents are linked in any way.

"I would also like to urge anybody who has any information to get in touch with us as we continue to conduct our enquiries."

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time.
