A pop-up North American-style kitchen is opening a new restaurant in Norwich.

Bubba Kitchen, which is currently a pop-up kitchen at The Earlham in Earlham Road, will be opening in the premises previously owned by Fire Izakaya in White Lion Street

Bubba, which is informal slang in North America for brother, will open for delivery takeaways in September before aiming to launch the restaurant on October 5.

Norwich Evening News:

The menu features freshly made pittas, tacos, burgers and fried chicken.

Owner Iain Carter is "dead excited" about the move, after being at the NR2 pub for just three months.

Previously a chef at Brix and Bones, The Dial House, and Prime, Mr Carter, 40, said: "It is a great location right in the city centre and is so accessible.

"The place will have a lot of pink, bright colours and pop art to match our branding.

"There will be an element of Americana and Latin to the look.

"We are surrounded by the businesses we want to target - still wanting to be there for hospitality staff.

Norwich Evening News:

"We will be serving a scaled-down food menu until midnight so people can clock off and come enjoy some food."

Pitta options currently include shredded king oyster mushroom with truffled marmite mayo, kraut and pickles, and lamb barbacoa with kraut, jalapeno mayo and lime pickled onions.

Tacos feature Norfolk lamb with BBQ sauce and pickled cabbage or fried chicken with honey butter hollandaise and pickled red cabbage.

Bubba Kitchen will continue to be at The Earlham until the end of September, before opening in White Lion Street from Thursday to Sunday.
