There is still plenty of the summer left for roasting marshmallows around the campfire, stargazing and sleeping in nature.

Here are five of the best spots to camp in the Norfolk Broads.

1. Salhouse Broad

Where: Salhouse Broad, Lower St, Salhouse, Norwich, NR13 6RX

Sat in the heart of the Broads, the tent-only campsite at Salhouse Broad is low-impact and back-to-basics, set just a few yards from the waters' edge.

Drinking water is available from a stand pipe in the camping field, but there is no hot water, sinks, or showers on site.

There are chemical toilets at the site and only one car is allowed per booking.

Pitches range from £15 to £20 depending on the season.

2. Clippesby Hall

Where: Hall Road, Clippesby, Great Yarmouth, NR29 3BL

Located near Great Yarmouth, Clippesby Hall is a family-owned camping and touring site that covers 34 acres of woodland.

It has eight distinctive areas, ranging from tucked away spaces to large open-perimeter pitches and shepherd huts.

3. Whitlingham Broad Campsite

Where: Whitlingham Broad, Norwich, NR14 8TR

Just 2.5 miles away from the city centre, this vast site stretches over 80 acres of land at Whitlingham Country Park.

Visitors can choose from a variety of accommodation options including simple camping pitches, bell tents, shepherd huts, a yurt, a converted goods wagon and kooky woodland dens.

Additional facilities include large family-friendly washrooms with showers and toilets, an outside washing-up area, a play area and a shop selling all the essentials you could need.

For those who enjoy more home comforts, glamping woodland dens are also available.

4. Wroxham Barns

Where: Tunstead Road, Hoveton, Norwich, NR12 8QU

Wake up next to the animals after a night under the stars at Wroxham Barns.

Enjoy unlimited visits to Junior Farm and the Fun Park during your stay.

Wroxham is considered the capital of the Broads by many, so you are right in the heart of the must-see sights.

There is a cafe, showers and toilets, and plenty of parking.

5. Hickling Campsite

Where: Heath Rd, Hickling, Norwich NR12 0AU

Described as a "little piece of paradise" by owners Tom and Jo, this campsite is situated by the largest of the Norfolk Broads.

Firewood is available to purchase for the fire pits and there are raspberries and apples to pick onsite.

Spend the evening star gazing as the area has very little light pollution.

On the site, there is drinking water, outdoor sinks and a freezer, as well as showers and toilets.

There is also glamping available on-site.
