Tuesday night's performance of The Rocky Horror Show at Norwich Theatre Royal was temporarily halted and the reason has now been revealed.
Audience members watching the cult classic musical were left confused after the curtains were closed around 40 minutes in - midway through a song.
One theatre-goer said the performance resumed around 40 minutes after it was stopped.
While the audience was waiting, a group of women in fancy dress led the stalls in a singalong of the musical's most famous song Time Warp.
The lively group also got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to one of their party.
