While the Tunnel of Light has been cancelled in 2023, there is still lots to look forward to in Norwich this Christmas.
Earlier this month, Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) announced that its festive attraction would not be open this year due to Norwich City Council's £3.2million redevelopment of Hay Hill, which is due to finish in early 2024.
Norwich BID also said that the Tunnel of Light may be gone for good as it is "considering different schemes in the years to come".
In 2023, it is instead launching a new Christmas lighting scheme, with the switch-on date Thursday, November 16.

The scheme will be 100pc LED and powered by 100pc renewable energy, with lampposts wrapped in lights for the first time and festive decor in more areas.
Also new for this year, The Shoebox Experiences, based in Castle Meadow, is launching a 'Chronicles of Christmas' walking tour of Norwich, which will run during November and December.

It will cover 1.3 miles in 90 minutes and it will delve into how Christmas has been celebrated through the ages, with tickets on sale in October.
The fully accessible tour will cost £15 for adults and £8 for children aged 4-12 years.
Many seasonal favourites will return to Norwich including The Nutcracker Festive Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House (November 1-January 8), Festive Fair at The Forum (November 23-26), Clutter City Winter Market at Norwich Arts Centre (December 9), traditional Gluhwein at Sir Toby’s Beers on Norwich Market (November – December) and Santa's Grotto for Dogs at The Forum (December 10).
Festive shows include Carols With the King at The Forum (December 3), Sleeping Beauty at Norwich Theatre Royal (December 9- January 7) and Swing into Christmas at The Forum (December 17).
