City folk can get free dental check-ups when a new practice opens in Norwich later this year.

Viva Dental is currently preparing to launch in Queens Road after plans to change the use of the former William Hill bookmakers were given the green light in January 2022.

Managers of the private clinic are hoping to start seeing patients this autumn and will be offering free dental check-ups for all adults during the first month.

Weekends dedicated to children's oral health will also be held to help educate parents and carers.

A spokeswoman for Viva Dental said: "Even though we are a private practice, we are really keen on prevention and helping all patients access quality dental care."

The opening comes amid mounting concern over the provision of dental care in the region, with many so-called 'dental deserts' where people have no access to NHS dentists.
