You might think that this is the story of a male vocalist group, but it is the great woman who rose The Drifters to the top who is the true star of the show.
West End jukebox musical The Drifters Girl tells the tale of a woman who took centre stage in a world that loved to tell her she couldn’t.
Formed in 1953, The Drifters featured 60 vocalists and its famous songs include Save The Last Dance For Me and Saturday Night At The Movies.
Faye Treadwell, along with her husband George, helped turn the group into a global phenomenon.
She carried on defeating the odds stacked against her as a black woman following his sudden death in 1967.
They say behind every great man there is an even greater woman and Carly Mercedes Dyer as Faye stole the show, with her powerful vocals shaking the room.

I couldn't take my eyes off Ashford Campbell as he sang Stand By Me as Ben E. King, before foot tapping turned into dancing as everyone was up by for the last number of Come On Over To My Place.
Rising star Dalton Harris, who won ITV talent competition The X Factor in 2018, also gave an impressive performance.
Alongside the songs were a sprinkling of jokes, a historic story, pristine routines and underlying messages of race and gender.
