Police confirmed they are investigating the four thefts over a three-month period which has set an independent city business back hundreds of pounds.

Helen Shepherd, owner of Sinsins Boutique of Love in St Benedicts Street, has had four separate incidents of theft since July.

Despite capturing all the incidents, which occurred in July and September, on CCTV police are yet to make an arrest.

The four thefts have cost Ms Shepherd a total of £386 - which she "can't afford to lose."

She said: "These thefts are making my life a lot harder - something is going to have to happen soon or the city will just become the wild west.

"I can't sustain these losses."

"The incident occurred on September 13, at 12.20am, at a business premises in St Benedicts Street where an item valued at £70 was stolen.

"We also received a second report of theft which was received the next day.

"The incident occurred on September 14, at 11.14am, at the same business premises where an item valued at £66 was stolen.

In July Sinsins was hit twice with a total of £250-worth of goods stolen.

While the shop's CCTV captured the thief in action, with her even taunting the police by saying "they'll catch me then" no arrests have been made yet.

Police confirmed: "Both of these thefts remain under investigation.

"No arrests have been made."

Ms Shepherd added: "Even having CCTV footage of the people's faces and providing information on their whereabouts, the police refuse to take the quick win.

"Honestly, I'm done with it."
