A mother has spoken of her terror after her family cat was killed by an XL Bully-type dog.
Nima Begum was getting ready to take her three-year-old son for an ice cream last Friday when she heard shouts from her garden.
Fearful of who it may have been, Ms Begum opened the upstairs window of her home in Lovelace Road in Norwich to see a man physically struggling to get hold of the strong dog.
With no sign of her cat Kiwi, the man, whose dog's mouth was covered in blood, kept calling to her "your cat is fine" and apologising for what had happened.

With the help of an onlooker Ms Begum got the five-year-old cat down from the tree but before they could get to the vet Kiwi died.

The mum-of-three said her children were distraught and none of them ate anything that night.
"It all happened in seconds," she said. "I was absolutely frightened and my cat was killed into pieces.
"I have seen that dog off the lead every day for a few months. It could have been the dog attacking my three-year-old boy.

"My biggest worry is not just about my child, but for the school nearby. I am so scared to take my boy to the nursery across the road."
One of Kiwi's 11-week-old kittens, Peppercorn, managed to escape the attack, which was captured on Ring doorbell footage.
Ms Begum has reported the incident to Norfolk Constabulary which has been contacted for comment.
