The release date for the new Steven Spielberg series based in Norfolk starring Oscar nominees has been confirmed.
Masters of the Air, which is based on Donald L Miller's Book, will follow the "bomber boys" of the US Eighth Air Force, who were stationed in Norfolk and across East Anglia.
Produced by Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the Apple TV+ series will feature a host of famous faces, including Oscar nominated Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan, as well as Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa and Callum Turner from Fantastic Beasts and Emma.
The show was due to be released later this year, but will now hit our screens on January 26, 2024, when the first two episodes are released.
The last of the nine episodes will air on March 15, 2024.
Although the series is based in Norfolk, filming predominantly took place in Buckinghamshie and Oxfordshire.
During the Second World War, around 50,000 American military personnel served on 18 airbases within Norfolk - known as the “friendly invasion”.
The US Eighth Air Force occupied bases in Attlebridge, Bodney, Deopham Green, East Wretham, Hardwick, Hethel, Horsham St Faith, North Pickenham, Old Buckenham, Rackheath, Seething, Shipdham, Snetterton Heath, Thorpe Abbotts, Tibenham, Watton and Wendling.
