A city chippy is offering customers a chance for an unusually colourful spin on their regular order.

Until the end of October customers who order any food of the battered variety from the Family Fish Bar, in Silver Road, will have the option to have it dyed pink.

But it's not just for the halibut - it's to raise money and awareness for the charity Breast Cancer UK.

She said: "The first time I had it was 22 years ago, then again four years ago and have had a double mastectomy.

"The idea came from Evie, who works weekends at the shop, who asked if we could dye the batter pink.

"I thought it was a good idea and managed to source some vegan colouring for it to go on our battered sausages, fish, or anything else someone might want.

"It's been quite divisive - some people love it and others aren't as keen - but either way it's made people talk about breast cancer which is the main thing."
