The transformation of a city centre space into a 91-room hotel has moved a step closer.
Travelodge is moving into Guildhall Hill and Dove Street in the building above what used to be Tesco Express.
Property consultants Ward Hill Walker have confirmed construction will begin in early 2024, with hopes of welcoming the first guests in 2025.
Tenders are currently out to contractors to price the scheme in its entirety.

It is understood a company has already carried out internal stripping works at the site, but a different contractor will carry out the main construction.
“We are on target to start the major construction work early in 2024, when people will start to see rapid progress," said John Walker, of Ward Hill Walker.
"The initial job will see hoardings going up as we undertake the demolition of 16 Dove Street, the former jeweller’s shop, for archaeological works to be carried out on the site.
"Once the archaeologists have completed their studies, we will be pushing ahead with the rest of the construction work."

At least 28 new jobs are expected to be created when the new Travelodge opens.
No parking will be provided for guests, but customers will be able to use St Andrews Car Park.
“We are taking great care throughout the project," added Mr Walker.
"It is a very restricted site, which means access for vehicles and plant is challenging.
"The streets are narrow and the Norwich Lanes is a very busy shopping area.
"Throughout all building work, we will be working very hard indeed to minimise disruption to residents, retailers and shoppers, and no road closures are planned."
Tesco Express left the site in May 2022 before opening a new branch in the former Laura Ashley premises in London Street.
