Firefighters were at the scene of a large fire that ripped through a listed Victorian building last night.

Crews from across the county were called to the fire in Bracondale at around 9pm.

The fire broke out at the Trowse Pumping Station, where civic watchdog the Norwich Society has previously warned that the building is in danger of neglect.

Fire crews from North Earlham, Carrow, Fakenham and Hethersett tackled the blaze, with assistance from aerial ladder platforms from North Earlham and Great Yarmouth.

Images show flames erupting from the roof of the disused property. 

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service tweeted an image of the fire from above. 

This joins a spate of fires in disused buildings in the Norwich area.

This morning, images show the damage to the roof of the Victorian building.

St Andrews Hospital went up in flames in Thorpe St Andrewlast month, with 42 firefighters called to the blaze. 

Earlier this year, the old May Gurney site in Trowse - which had been earmarked as a site for 670 new homes - was also set alight. 

No injuries have been reported at the Pumping Station fire last night.
