A popular city pub has closed its doors following noise complaints.
Last Pub Standing, in King Street, announced the sudden closure on Sunday.
The news was posted on the pub's social media pages, in a post which read: "We are sorry to announce, that in light of recent noise complaints, Last Pub Standing has decided to close from today (Sunday, November 12) until next weekend (Friday, November 17).
"We care deeply about our community, as well as the artists we work with each week to provide a place for them to perform and develop their crafts.
“We will continue to provide a space for local creatives and our loyal customers, but this does require necessary changes to our garden.
"Over the next week we will be introducing several measures to reduce the noise produced by the garden in the surrounding areas.
"Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues."
This follows the recent announcement that the pub would be serving Caribbean-style roasts on a Sunday.
The closure led to the cancellation of the Young Visionaries event planned over the weekend, an event designed to spotlight musicians aged between 11 and 19 years old.
The Soul Kitchen will remain open and continue to serve takeaway food through Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat.
The pub was reopened in 2017 after a £70,000 revamp, three years after it had closed as Kings.
Guidance from Norwich City council explains: All licensed venues, whether a pub, nightclub or restaurant, is likely to generate some noise; therefore you should not expect silence if you live close to licensed premises.
"Under national legislation, all licensed premises are permitted to have live music until 11pm. Many other venues in the city have permission to play live and recorded music until after this time depending on the terms of their license.
"While noise from licensed venues should be expected, if you feel the level of noise is unreasonable and starts to have a negative impact on the use of your property, please report it."
