A cow that was saved from slaughter is settling into her new home.
Wildlife lover Sandi Lowe joined forces with the Evening News to have Rose the elderly Highland cow moved to Hillside Animal Sanctuary, near Frettenham.
Rose previously lived with her herd at Taverham Mill but when she began to slow down her biggest fan jumped into action to get her moved to the sanctuary to live out her days in peace.
After some initial disagreements, Anglian Water agreed that she could be transported and now Rose is enjoying her retirement.

“We would like to thank the Norwich Evening News and Sandi Lowe, Rose’s rescuer.”
Sandi continues to visit Rose and is so pleased that all of her hard work and determination has paid off.
She said: “I was relieved when the vet gave her a clean bill of health – she wasn’t lame at all, she is overweight and in need of a hoof trim.”
