Mushy peas can be something of an acquired taste but how do they taste in a pie?
The Mushy Pea Stall has been on Norwich Market since 1949 and was taken on by neighbours Lucy's Chips in June last year.
They also offer pies made by local business Pastry Cutters, including the new filling of mushy peas, beef mince and onions - so I headed down to give it a try.
The pie, which cost £3.50, came with the lid already loose. The first bite contained mostly mushy peas, which was lovely.

Minced beef and onion followed with every subsequent bite to ensure a tasty and unforgettable experience.
I am now a fully converted mushy peas fan and can’t wait to go back for more soon.

The pie was cooked to perfection, so well done to the team for creating something so unique yet so scrumptious.
Lucy's Chips, where chips are cooked in beef dripping, was established on the market in 1971 and the current owners are twin brothers Kingston and Barclay Gray.
The mushy peas pie can be purchased in a deal with chips and gravy for £5.80.
