A 43-year-old man has been jailed after trying car door handles in a city car park.
Mark Aslopp, of Rye Close in Norwich, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison following the vehicle interference on November 9.
The incident happened in the early hours of the morning at a car park in St Swithin's Road where Alsopp was spotted trying the door handles of two cars.
Alsopp then made violent threats towards a witness who challenged and started to record him.
He was arrested on Tuesday (November 28) at 10.20pm in Andrew's Plain for vehicle interference and threatening behaviour.
During his arrest, officers recovered a set of bolt croppers and he was further arrested under suspicion of going equipped for theft.
Alsopp was taken to Wymondham Police Station and later charged with all four offences.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning and pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicle interference, threatening behaviour, and going equipped for theft.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
