From a famous fairground ride to live music, have fun in Norwich without spending a fortune at these cheap events between Christmas and New Year.
1. Ride on the Gallopers
Where: The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich, NR2 1TF
When: Until January 1 (closed Christmas Day), weekdays: 11am-7pm, weekends: 11am-8pm (weather permitting)
Price: £3 a ride by cash or card
Take a spin on the 'Pride of the South' Gallopers, which was built by Frederick Savage of King's Lynn in 1893.
The ride has a rich history and it featured in blockbuster films such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988).

2. DJ Hipology Sounds
Where: Yalm Food Hall, The Royal Arcade, Norwich, NR2 1NQ
When: December 29, 7pm-11pm
Price: Free entry
Hipology Sounds will entertain you from behind the decks as you tuck into tasty food and drink.
Order by scanning a QR code on your table, with locally-run kitchens including newcomer The Diner serving New York-style sandwiches and Milk Dessert Bar.
3. My First: The Night Before Christmas
Where: The Garage, 14 Chapel Field North, Norwich, NR2 1NY
When: Until December 31

My First: The Night Before Christmas is an interactive show for ages 0-4, which aims to introduce youngsters to a theatre setting.
Expect dancing, games, music and play as the audience helps Lucy get ready for her Christmas party.

4. Nikki and the Switchblades
Where: The Reindeer, 10 Dereham Road, Norwich, NR2 4AY
When: December 30, from 9pm
Price: Free entry
Nikki and the Switchblades will perform at The Reindeer pub in Norwich on December 30.
Join them for some sassy 50s rockabilly and rock and roll, with the set starting at 9pm.
5. Dub, Sweat and Beers Presents: Dub the Halls (Xmas Special)
Where: Last Pub Standing, 27-29 King Street, Norwich, NR1 1PD
When: December 29, 3pm-11pm
Price: Free entry
Local DJs will play genres including dub, reggae and jungle at this popular live music pub.
As ever, on the food menu will be Caribbean classics from Norwich Soul Kitchen.
