Nine rivers in Norfolk are at risk of flooding today as the county prepares to be hit by 60mph wind and heavy rains from Storm Pia.
The Met Office has warned of Christmas travel disruption as the sixth named storm of the season brings severe weather to the region.
There is a yellow weather warning for wind in effect all of today, meaning travel disruption is likely, power cuts are possible and coastal communities could be battered by high waves.
The Environment Agency has also warned that eight rivers and other minor waterways in the county are at risk of bursting their banks.
Rivers in the northwest, around King's Lynn and Hunstanton, are included in a Norfolk-wide alert.

This extends to the Rivers Wissey, Bure, Waveney, Dove, Ant, Thurne and Yare.
Other at-risk areas include the Hundred Foot Washes in southwest Norfolk, Spixworth Beck and its surrounding Becks and Breydon Water.

A Met Office spokesman previously said: "Wind will be the main weather hazard throughout the day.
"This will peak in Norfolk at around midday and heading into the afternoon."
Early morning reports have measured wind speeds as fast as 55mph in Weybourne, north Norfolk.
