From new bars to a unique dining space inside a church, these are just some of the food and drink businesses opening in Norwich in 2024.
1. Hop Rocket
Where: 152a Unthank Road
Hop Rocket is landing in the Golden Triangle very soon and it will be a real ale and craft beer pub, doubling up as a bottle shop too.
It is from the same team behind The Brewery Tap in NR3 and customers can expect tap takeovers, mini beer festivals and more at the new premises.

2. Grounded Coffee Bar
Where: 119 Unthank Road
Siblings Charlie Day and Simon Howland are opening an independent coffee shop in the former home of The Printer Shop.
It has undergone an extensive refurbishment, with the changes documented on their Instagram page.
3. Bier Draak
Where: 42 King Street
Business partners Toby Westgarth and Dominic Burke of Sir Toby's Beers are opening a "continental beer bar" in King Street in January 2024.
It will feature draught and bottled German and Belgian beers alongside a selection of cold meats and cheeses.

4. The Last
Where: 70-76 St Georges Street
The Last in St Georges Street closed in July 2023 and the previous chef-owner was Iain McCarten.
It was recently revealed that the restaurant will reopen in 2024 with a new owner at the helm.
His identity is being kept under wraps for now but the spokesperson said he has "10 years of experience at one of the most famous five-star hotels in London".

5. The Potting Shed
Where: St Simon And St Jude Church, 49 Elm Hill
Theatre company Curious Directive is based at a Norwich church and since 2020 it has run the Botanical Garden Bar there over the summer months.
This is now expanding with a permanent indoor bar, called The Potting Shed, launching in February 2024 with a four-week residency from local chef Meg Greenacre.
She will serve Scandinavian-style dishes using Norfolk produce, with booking opening in the new year.
6. Pho
Where: 5 Queen Street
National restaurant chain Pho, which serves Vietnamese street food, is opening in the former Royal Bank of Scotland building in Queen Street.
The closest branch to Norwich at the moment is in Cambridge and it serves its signature pho bowls, salads, noodles and curries.
7. Taco Bell
Where: 14 London Street
Tex-Mex fast food giant Taco Bell is opening in the former home of Thomas Cook in London Street.
The restaurant will be Norfolk's only branch of the American chain after its Great Yarmouth takeaway closed during the pandemic.
