Two new independent businesses, including one which is out of this world, have brought a boost to Bridewell Alley in the Norwich Lanes.
Slice on the Lanes recently opened at 3 Bridewell Alley, in the former home of Sicily Trattoria, and it is a café by day and a pizza restaurant by night.
It is a collaboration between chef Jeff Taylor, also of The Bun X burger joint at the Micawbers Tavern in Pottergate, and Norwich baker Kat Doonan, who has an online sweet treats business called Kookie Ko.
Speaking when it opened, Mr Taylor said: We are a cosy café during the day with coffees, Kookie Ko's treats, amazing sandwiches and flatbreads and deep-dish pizza by the slice to eat-in or takeaway.

"Then on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, you can again enjoy pizza by the slice but it is unlimited for £17pp."
During the day, the 'Kookie Kabinet' treats include brownies, blondies and rocky road.
Two doors up, at the junction with Bedford Street, Cosmic Jo's Galactic Trading Outpost is a new sci-fi and fantasy store.
It was created by couple Jonathan Storey and Bradley Brady, who are both from Great Yarmouth.
The pair worked in Los Angeles for many years and Mr Storey previously created merchandise for Disney.

The new shop stocks collectables from popular franchises such as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel and Harry Potter.
Mr Storey said: "People who have come into the shop have been blown away, it is a one-of-a-kind experience."
There is also a café inside the store, which serves American pancakes, milkshakes and toasted sandwiches as well as hot drinks.
