A shocked driver has warned others to be wary after his car was pelted with eggs and other objects.
Lloyd Morgan was on a late-night drive with his girlfriend over the weekend when he spotted what he thought was debris being hurled from woodland in Reepham Road as he came into Hellesdon.
The car and body repair technician apprentice lives in Lower Hellesdon and uses Reepham Road regularly to go between Hellesdon and Horsford to visit friends and family.
He had no idea that when he used the familiar road on Sunday his Honda Civic Sport would be pelted with eggs.
The 22-year-old said: “At around 1.15am just as we were about to come into Hellesdon on Reepham Road, about 100 yards from the 30mph sign, I saw a bunch of debris flying out of the woodland on my left-hand side and out into the path of my car.

“I saw it coming but there wasn’t anything I could have done to avoid it.”
Lloyd's girlfriend was frightened as she thought the car had hit an animal, or that that car was being targeted.
Lloyd said: “About 50 yards after the 30mph sign I pulled over to check the state of the car only to find it has been covered with eggs, with egg whites all over the window and passenger side of the vehicle.
“There is also a dent on my door, so I assume they threw something a lot heavier too.”

After checking the damage, Lloyd entered the woods to find the culprits, but they were either hiding or had scampered off.
He said: “This could have become a more serious or even fatal incident if the driver was elderly or easily spooked.”
