Safety concerns have been raised after plans to knock down and rebuild a busy petrol station on the A47 were approved.
The proposals lodged by Shell UK will see the existing sales building and forecourt at Brundall Service Station in Yarmouth Road demolished and completely rebuilt.
The fuel giant wants to build a new sales building, a forecourt with underground tanks, pumps and canopy, car parking spaces and bays where people can charge up their electric vehicles.
But Green councillor Eleanor Laming, who represents Brundall on Broadland District Council, fears the replacement petrol station will put more pressure on roads and threaten the safety of the nearby roundabout.
"I was expecting the scheme to be approved," she said.

"But I still have concerns about the impact it will have on the Cucumber Lane roundabout.
"The Greater Norwich Local Plan has already said this is at or near full capacity.
"And this isn't the only development in the area.
"This outlet could be open 24 hours a day, and the planning statement indicates that an increase in demand is expected on existing petrol stations as numbers of these decrease nationally and the number of vehicles on the road increase.
"So vehicle movements to and from the facility will increase putting more pressure on the road system."

The latest project from Shell is a revision of previous proposals, withdrawn after National Highways lodged an 'in principle' objection, amid concerns the layout could have caused cars to block the site entrance and access to the McDonald's next door.
Approval of the plans also follows proposals being lodged recently for an 80-car electric vehicle charging hub in Yarmouth Road, the other side of the McDonald's site from the fuel station.
That comes as preliminary work has started nearby for the dualling of the A47 between Blofield and North Burlingham.
