A man who overcame his "debilitating" condition is hoping to inspire others by attempting a world record run later this year.
Sam Goolding, who lives on the outskirts of the city between Frettenham and Wroxham, decided to take up a monumental challenge - taking on the 84-mile run along the Norfolk Coastal path but with a twist - tackling the challenge in 24 hours while wearing a 40 lb vest.
Should Sam be successful in his bid it would mean breaking a world record set by Iranian Ebrahim Ataei in June 2022, who travelled 79 miles under the same conditions.
The 21-year-old, who studied at City College Norwich and Access Creative College in Magdalen Street, submitted his application to Guinness World Records to officially attempt the challenge on June 29, starting from Hopton-on-Sea and is hoping to arrive at Hunstanton 24 hours later.

He said: "To have a world record in my name would be incredible and something I'd never even dreamt of.
"I've run marathons and an ultramarathon but this is a potential world record attempt and it's exciting to be able to really push my limits.
"I'm getting prepared by doing some half marathons with the 40 lb vests and I've realised it's going to be about how I can endure and push through during the 24 hours.
"It's going to be about pushing through the pain when my shoulders are aching and my ankles are stiff."

In addition to taking on the world record Sam wants to help raise awareness to "help break the stigma" attached to those with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) which has plagued him for years and has a GoFundMe trying to raise money for OCD UK.
He added: "My OCD was fuelled by self-doubt and a core belief that I wasn't good enough for anyone or anything which I developed during childhood.
"I've sought validation for it in my relationships and escapism from it in alcohol, drugs and binge eating.
"However if I can change just one or two people's lives for the better through this by being a source of inspiration, help or support for them, then that would be equally as fulfilling for me as achieving the record."
