A heartbroken woman has appealed for help after her beloved dog was killed in a crash near a pub.
Alisha Ballinger, who lives in Bawburgh, arrived home late last Wednesday because her car had broken down and was concerned to find her dog Romi had not come to the front door to greet her.
"Romi is one of these dogs who sits and waits for you and jumps up as soon as you arrive home," she said.
"But looking at our indoor camera we found that she had escaped from a very old cat flap which we didn't know she could get out of.

"I immediately called the police and they said I'd have to call the dog warden in the morning which I couldn't do because I was going crazy not knowing where she was."
Ms Ballinger called Taverham Vets who told her Romi had been brought in dead that evening.

She was found near the Kings Head pub in Harts Lane after being hit by a car.
"What we're trying to work out is who did it and why didn't they stop for her," Ms Ballinger added.
"The vets said she suffered a broken pelvis and leg, with internal bleeding too, so she was more than likely hit at speed despite the road having a 20mph limit.
"If anyone was in Bawburgh that evening and saw Romi being hit, please let me know.
"Any help would be really appreciated."
