Cinema fans could be left disappointed as plans to turn a grade II listed building into a cinema appear to have stalled again.
Plans to transform the Old Goods Shed, next to Wymondham Railway Station, into a cinema were first approved by South Norfolk Council in 2019.
However, when Covid struck work had not begun and the transformation was stalled.
It came to light last April that Filmhaus, the Bury St Edmunds-based business behind the plans, was working to open the cinema in the first half of 2024 - but little progress has been made since.
"I believe the project had stalled, if not been abandoned, during the pandemic," said Wymondham's mayor Suzanne Nuri-Nixon, who is a district and town councillor.
"There were reports here and there that the company who applied for planning permission was looking to restart their plans last year.
"But to date, nothing further has been received.
"It is a real shame as it would have brought a lovely old building back into use."

he original plans showed the currently dilapidated building being transformed into two cinema screens - one that had 94 seats and two wheelchair spaces and one with 31 seats on a mezzanine.
It would also have had a cafe and bar with food and drink and a meeting room for community use and hire.

Wymondham has not had a cinema since The Regal in Friarscroft Lane closed its doors in 1993, after more than 50 years.
"The idea of having a cinema on that site was something which had very broad appeal when it first came forward for planning," added Lib Dem councillor Ms Nuri-Nixon.
"At the moment, however, there are no plans I have heard of to renew the cinema proposal process."
Attempts to contact Filmhaus proved unsuccessful.
