A city student with a passion for animal welfare is preparing to throw herself from a plane at 10,000ft.
Lily Alderton, 16, studies at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form and hopes to become a veterinary physiotherapist.
The dog lover is all too aware of the heartbreak caused by losing a pet and the abuse that animals face across the world daily.

As the owner of two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Kokoni, Lily has decided to turn her passion into activism for global animal welfare charity Four Paws through a sponsored skydive.
She said: ‘‘By supporting this charity you are actively seeking a better world for our pets as well as the welfare of wild animals such as lions or tigers who can often be overlooked.’’
DONATE: Lily's skydive for Four Paws
Four Paws focuses on issues including the illegal trade of tigers across Europe and the cat and dog meat trade in Asia.
Lily added: ‘‘I feel like with a skydive, it’s either go big or go home."
She plans to jump with Skyline Skydiving at Beccles Airfield on May 30 and has raised £350 of her £500 target on her JustGiving page.
