A city centre shop has had windows smashed and doors destroyed during an overnight break-in.
Ajith Kumar, the owner of Ber Street Convenience Store, was woken up at 3.30am on Tuesday by the alarm sounding at his city shop.
He arrived at the scene to discover that one of his shop windows had been shattered and the door smashed in.
"It is very irritating," he said. "They have stolen cigarettes, tobacco and some bottles of alcohol.
"This is the first time this has happened and I have been here for three years."
With the extent of the damage that has been caused, Ajith believes the thieves may have used a car to ram into the shop front, an opinion backed up by someone who watched the incident happen.
An eyewitness who lives near the Ber Street shop, said: "At 3.30am I was woken by the sound of breaking glass.
"I videoed the robbers getting away and called the police.
"It looks like they rammed the shop.
"I spoke to the shopkeeper in the morning and he said they had taken £200 from the till and lots of tobacco."

Norfolk police confirmed that they were called to the scene of the burglary at around 3.40am.
A spokesman said: "Two suspects used what is believed to be a stolen vehicle to damage the front of the building and gain entry. Multiple items were stolen.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
Ajith spent most of the early hours of Tuesday clearing up the smashed glass that was scattered across the pavement and inside his shop, choosing to remain open for the day.
"There was glass everywhere," he added. "It was such a mess."
