Nearly 300 city homes and businesses were left without electricity yesterday after a power cut.
UK Power Networks engineers were alerted to the issue affecting those living in Bowthorpe just before 7pm.
A spokesman for the company said: "We believe the issue is on our underground network that initially interrupted power to 2,580 properties.

"However, we have managed to divert power back to some properties, so 278 properties are still affected.
"Specialist engineers from our control room will continue to divert power remotely, so power may come back on at any point."
Power was expected to return between 9.30pm and 10.30pm last night but was not restored until 1.15am today.
