A new addition to the Fat Cat Brewing family specialising in craft ale is set to open in NR2.
The bar - dubbed The Mad Cat - will open today at 4pm next door to The Fat Cat pub in West End Street.
The Mad Cat will focus on serving a range of craft ales, both on draught and in cans, but will also stock real ales, ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Will Keatley, manager of The Fat Cat, said: "Once it's up and running expect to see a variety of events taking place from beer festivals, tap takeovers, quizzes, wine tasting nights and more.

"So come one come all and let the good times roll - and if it's not your cup of tea, The Fat Cat Pub is a mere 10 yards down the road!"
