The City of Ale is back in Norwich for its 12th festival this spring and this is all you need to know ahead of the city-wide celebration.
What are the dates and locations?
The event will last a month, taking place across pubs and bars in the city from May 23 until June 23.
The festival's walkable ale trails are designed to take beer fans “off-road” through historic parts of the city, "allowing you to view its rich heritage through the lens of its Norwich pubs and brewing tradition".
What can I expect during the festival?
An ale-inspired month celebrating 52 of the city's finest pubs and bars, the festival will bring together more than 50 award-winning ales and craft beers on cask and keg from Norfolk and Suffolk-based breweries.
There will be eight designated Ale Trails for 2024, with participants able to earn a stamp at each pub they visit on the trails.
Upon completion of each trail, a badge can be claimed at either the first or final pub on the trail.
What is happening at the launch event?
There will be a City of Ale launch party happening at The Waterfront on May 23.
The event, for people over the age of 18, will run from 5.30pm to 10.30pm.
Entry costs £11 and includes three pints and a festival glass.
