Much needed work on a former pub has restarted after months of uncertainty that left neighbours fuming.
The Buck, a grade II listed pub in Thorpe St Andrew that dates back to the 17th century, has been vacant since 2019.
Plans to revitalise the Yarmouth Road building were approved in 2022 by Broadland District Council but last month locals voiced their frustration after a halt in development.
The delay caused outrage among those living nearby but after contacting this newspaper work has begun again.
Patsy Dashwood owned the pub between 1984 and 2005. She still lives next door and complained about the lack of progress at the site.
Patsy, 81, said: "The work started up again since it was in the paper.
"There's been new windows installed and the front of the building now looks tidier - overall it just looks a lot better.
"The ground around it is still quite bad but it seems like that won't be done until all the other work is finished.

"I'm pleased they're doing something about it now because it's been years since there was any progress on it.
"Now it's just a case of getting it finished as soon as possible so it's back and in-keeping with such a beautiful area."

The delay came from developers, Black Orange Investments, trying to find new contractors after Ronald Scott - owner of R Dunn building contractors - stopped working on the site in October 2022.
A spokeswoman for Black Orange Investments confirmed the new company carrying out the work was King & Co Builders, but could not confirm a timeframe for when the work would be completed.
The Buck was first registered as a licenced house in 1789 before it was renovated in 2005, adding a beer garden.
