The owner of a vibrant city beauty salon is celebrating a "challenging but rewarding" first year in business.

Kelly-Anne Williams opened the doors to Simply Beauty near Norwich Market in Guildhall Hill in May 2023, stunning guests with its pink decor and quirky neon signage.

The salon initially only offered manicures but has already expanded by building a new beauty room for pedicures, lashes, tinting, HD brows, laminated brows, massages and facials.

"It's been a really challenging but rewarding year for us," Miss Williams said.

"I'm proud of what we've managed to do here - the hardest part has been getting our name out there.

"We've listened to what our clients want and made the necessary changes and we've been a lot busier since."

She added one of her highlights of the past year has been running a pop-up nail bar in John Lewis, which she called "an amazing opportunity".

The owner expects the next year to be just as lively - with her premises contract running out in November, she will be searching for a new home in the city alongside continuing to treat her "very loyal client base".

Miss Williams hopes to one day incorporate aspects of her previous career into her business.

She worked in different Imagine Spa locations across the region for 12 years before opening Simply Beauty and managed her own team for seven of those years.

"What we do at the moment is make people feel really lovely and nice, getting them ready for events and holidays," she added.

"But in a hotel spa, there is more of a focus on relaxation which I really enjoyed so I'd love to get back into that later on.”
