A city salon has lost out on "thousands" of pounds while work took place to repair the devastation caused by a two-car crash six months ago.

The shopfront of Beauty Lounge Amelie, in Constitution Hill, was damaged on November 10 when two cars collided at the traffic lights for North Walsham Road, near The Woodman pub.

One car was shunted into the side of the Old Catton business as a customer was having her nails done giving both her, and the nail technician, a nasty shock as a black Ford smashed into the wall below the shop's main window.

The shop's front was finally repaired on May 3 but police have confirmed "enquiries are still ongoing" for the incident, caught on the salon's CCTV.

The three-week repair at the salon has cost the business "thousands" of pounds.

Gigi Stonkiene, who's owned the business for three years, said: "Due to the work on repairing the shop front, me and my staff have lost out on work.

"The first two weeks we could only work a couple of days and the last week we weren't able to work at all.

"It's had such an impact on the business as we weren't able to earn any money.

"My earnings alone I've definitely lost out on thousands and the girls will have lost out on a lot too.

Jo Crickmore, the nail technician who was sat at the entrance to the salon when the incident happened, said: "It's caused me so much stress.

"My nerves were shot - the vehicles come flying past there and after the incident I would flinch every time they came past.

"I was in a right state over it all."
