The police response to a stabbing in a residential street on the edge of the city has been described as "absolutely manic" by locals.
Officers were called to Theobald Road in Old Lakenham at 9am on Saturday after a man was found with stab wounds.
A woman in her 40s and a man in his 30s were arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and bailed.
A second man in his 30s was also arrested on suspicion of BGH in nearby Bowman Road, in Tuckswood, on Sunday night and remains in custody.
Describing the scene that morning, a woman who lives in Theobald Road and wished to remain anonymous said: "It was absolutely manic.
"My little boy said 'there's all these cars in the road' and I looked outside and there must have been at least eight police cars, two rapid response vehicles, men with guns, a critical care van - the lot."
Her neighbour said she went out on Saturday morning and when she returned she had trouble getting into the street because of the amount of cars lining the curbs.
A man, 31, several doors down said he went out at 8.30am to find the street "swarming" with police cars, but he or his partner hadn't heard any disturbance in the night.
