Work has started on a new multi-million-pound Travelodge hotel in the city centre.
Plans for the 91-room hotel, in Chamberlain House in Guildhall Hill, were approved by Norwich City Council in July 2021.
The site, above the former Tesco Express supermarket which closed in May 2022, will see the empty offices in the Victorian building turned into hotel rooms - representing an £8-10m investment in the city.
London demolition firm Valori, which was founded in Norwich in 1947, started work in Dove Street and Pottergate last week.
A Travelodge spokeswoman said: "We remain committed to opening our fourth Travelodge hotel in Norwich and are working closely with the developer, Associated British Foods, to see the hotel completed and open."
While no opening date has been confirmed by the company property consultants, Ward Hill Walker, said it hopes of welcoming the first guests in 2025.

At least 28 new jobs are expected to be created when the Travelodge opens.
No parking will be provided for guests, but customers will be able to use St Andrews Car Park.
This will be the fourth Travelodge in the city with hotels currently in Queens Road, St Vedast Street and Cringleford.
