Police officers have "exhausted all lines of enquiry" after a man tore down £200 worth of advertising from an independent cafe.

Rhianna Royall, owner of Out of the Blue cafe in Waterloo Road, found recorded footage of a man ripping up her new £200 advertisements, for a new pizza and a pint deal, off the fence at 7.30am on June 1 last year.

Having received the report police - believing the incident happened on May 31 between 2pm and 3pm - launched an investigation into criminal damage and vandalism.

A year later however and police have closed the case, saying: "All lines of enquiry have been exhausted pending any new information."

"We were trying to help people so it's devastating that someone would do that."
