The owner of a Norwich coffee shop has announced its permanent closure.

La Petite Cafe opened in Magdalen Street eight years ago and has become well-known in the area for its delicious range of cakes and bakes.

But owner Anna Konstantynowicz revealed this week that she was closing its doors and "taking a step back" to focus on her "growing family".

Ms Konstantynowicz said she decided to let the business go when she found out she was expecting a child.

"As we have a little one on the way, I knew I wasn't going to be able to continue on my own," she explained.

"We would have hired a couple of people but unfortunately the business doesn't provide as well as it used to pre-covid, so me and my partner decided it was time for me to part ways with it."

She added she will always be grateful for her time there and said she has learned many things she can always carry with her.

"I've run La Petite for many years and it has been a great experience getting to know all the lovely people who have been loyal customers.

"I feel like you don't get that often - getting to know so many people on that level.

"I also gained a lot of new skills like baking and running a business which will be helpful for the future."
