A volunteering recruitment event is coming to Norwich later this week.
Organised by Voluntary Norfolk's communities team, Friday's event at The Forum promises an interactive experience, breaking with the traditions of volunteer fairs.
It will coincide with the 40th Volunteers’ Week anniversary and the Big Help Out 2024 campaign.
Visitors can participate in activities including seed sowing, printing, box-making and CPR demonstrations while meeting rescued animals and guide dog trainees.
Tasha Cobb, an organiser from Voluntary Norfolk, said: "We are excited to celebrate 40 years of Volunteers’ Week with an event that not only showcases the incredible work of our local organisations but also actively involves the community in meaningful, hands-on experiences."
She stressed the importance of volunteering, citing a decline in numbers and highlighted the struggles of various organisations due to this.
She urged the community to attend the event, promising a day of "discovery, inspiration, and celebration of community spirit".
The event will feature interactive "activity spaces", encouraging visitors to engage with the missions of over 50 organisations.
Short talks by volunteers are also planned for the day, which will run from 10.30am until 4pm.
