Plans have emerged for a former cafe in Norwich city centre to become a vape shop.

The former Harris and James, a bakery, chocolatier and ice cream shop in Haymarket, could soon become an Evapo vape shop if plans are approved by Norwich City Council.

Evapo is a popular online vape shop with a handful of local stores around the UK.

The shop will join three others within a stone's throw of each other: Zam Vape and I Vape in Brigg Street and Time2Vape in Orford Place.

Work has already begun, with the shopfront now painted bright blue, and builders spotted working inside.

Harris and James closed in Norwich in January following a post-pandemic slump in sales.

Originally, it was believed that the site would open as a pizzeria, though plans never emerged.

Knoops, a luxury chocolate brand, then filed plans with Norwich City Council but withdrew them in mid-May.

Norwich City Council is aiming to make a decision on the plans by August 1.
