A man involved in running a county line drug dealing network in Norwich has been jailed.

Anthony Bates, aged 26 and of Marl Pit Lane appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Friday 31 May 2024.

Bates previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine as well as the possession of a controlled drug, namely cannabis, and possession of criminal property.

His offences took place between December 1, 2023, and March 20, 2024, and relate to supplying crack cocaine and heroin through the 'Griffin' county line drug dealer network operating in Norwich.

After the raid of property on Marl Pit Lane on March 20, officers found "suspicious mobile phone activity that was consistent with the operation of a county line".

Police found hundreds of bulk messages had been sent out from phones advertising drugs for sale via the 'Griffin' line.

While searching the house officers also found a quantity of crack cocaine and heroin along with cannabis, cash and a mobile phone - being used to control the line.

Bates was then taken to Aylsham Police Station for questioning and was later charged.

He appeared at Norwich Crown Court on May 31 and was sentenced to three years in prison.
