A road is to close for eight weeks for a resurfacing project which will see parking banned on a nearby cul-de-sac.

The footway in Woodhall Rise in New Costessey is being resurfaced in sections from June 24 which will require a full eight-week road closure to ensure the safety of the workers and the public.

During these works, a fully signed diversion route will be in place through Olive Road, Oval Road and Oval Ave.

There will also be a no parking notice on the adjacent Leewood Crescent to allow contractors access to their compound and for their heavy plant vehicles.

During the works, a night closure will need to be in place in Leewood Crescent.

It will be closed for 11 hours, from 7.00pm to 6.00am, on a date still to be determined by the council.

A spokesman for Norfolk County Council said: "Once the main works start on Woodhill Rise we should have a firm date, it could potentially take place within the first two weeks of the initial work starting.

"We aim to minimise any inconvenience and will ensure the most disruptive work is completed early in the evening."

The work will cost £140,400 and is being carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and its contractors.
